MMEA hosts an Annual Inservice Conference focused on professional learning, networking, and student achievement. Due to restrictions placed on large gatherings, this will be a virtual event. Building on past successes from the July 2020 MMEA Virtual Conference, we hosted hundreds of educators for professional learning along with numerous sponsors and exhibitors. Additionally, dozens of 2021 All State Ensembles and Student Leadership Summit students attended a College Fair.
MMEA is dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive community in which participants and members of all backgrounds can access events, programs, services, and be treated fairly.
Conference Theme - A More Inclusive Music Education: Seeking Tomorrow’s “New Normal”
We invited educators to reflect and evaluate which pre-COVID proven practices held true after the shifts in education during 2020. How have collaborations, social unrest, and professional vulnerability shaped you as an educator? Presenters shared innovative strategies for reaching all students via face-to-face, hybrid, and virtual formats as we envision a future where synchronous and asynchronous instruction work hand-in-hand to augment individualized music instruction.
