Maryland Music Educators Association (MMEA) seeks to provide high-quality, peer-reviewed
professional development opportunities for all learners. We do so by hosting the following conferences:
Summer Virtual Conference (virtual)
Each summer MMEA hosts a virtual conference that focuses on overarching topics that affect all educators in the field, regardless of teaching level or content area. Attendees learn from experts and leaders across the country during the keynote and breakout sessions.
Fall Inservice Conference (in-person)

Student Leadership Summit (virtual)
Participants learn from national and local leaders in the music education and arts industry fields. All students grades 7-12 and undergraduates are invited to attend. Session topics include advocacy, conflict resolution, communication, diversity, equity, inclusion, and access; self-care; time management; and more. Community colleges, public and private colleges, universities, and conservatories join us for a college fair. This Summit includes an educator’s track to discuss leader development in the classrooms.
Annual Inservice Conference (in-person)
Current and future educators across the state are encouraged to join us annually in Baltimore for an inservice conference. Attendees will learn directly applicable, pedagogy-based, proven practices from fellow Marylanders and national clinicians. This event occurs simultaneously with the Senior All State weekend.
MMEA is dedicated to ensuring all those seeking resources have the access they need. As such, attendees may choose a “Pay What You Can” option or a recommended registration rate.
Membership is not required for any professional learning event or student adjudication opportunity hosted by MMEA.
