Overview

Current, retired, and future educators across the state are encouraged to join us in Baltimore for an inservice conference. Attendees will learn applicable, pedagogy-based proven practices from fellow Marylanders and national clinicians. This event occurs simultaneously with several All State ensemble rehearsals and concerts.

 

MMEA is dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive community in which participants and members of all backgrounds can access events, programs, services, and be treated fairly. MSDE CPD Credit

Educators will be able to earn one(1) credit of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Conference participants will need to attend the Full Conference and attend up to 15 hours of sessions, exhibits, all state rehearsals, and concerts. At the end of the process, conference attendees will need to complete a reflection.

Maryland 5th/6th Grade Demonstration Chorus

Maryland Choral Educators Association (MCEA) is proud of the return of the Maryland 5th/6th Grade Treble Demonstration Chorus that was a part of the Maryland Music Educators Association (MMEA) Annual Conference on Saturday, March 4, 2023. The chorus included exemplary treble singers (unchanged soprano and alto voices) from across the state of Maryland in 5th and 6th grade (as of the 2022-2023 school year). Important Policies for MMEA 2023 Annual State Conference Attendees 

 

Liability Waiver 

  • All conference attendees acknowledge that undertaking participation in this MMEA event is of their own free will and an intentional act. Attendees are fully aware that possible physical injury might occur as a result of participation in these events, including, but not limited to, injury from being exposed to, contracting, and/or spreading COVID-19. Attendees understand the risks and warnings concerning COVID-19 and expressly assume all such risks. 

  • Attendees agree to release and discharge MMEA and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and/or agents from any and all liabilities, damages, causes of action, claims, losses, expenses, and judgments as a result of injury or loss in connection with participation in this MMEA event.

 

Health & COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

  • To ensure everyone's health and safety to the best of our abilities, MMEA encourages that all attendees be fully up to date with their vaccination against COVID-19.

  • MMEA will continue to monitor and address the changing landscape of the Covid pandemic. 

  • MMEA will communicate any changes in safety protocols prior to the Conference, e.g., testing, masking, social distancing, etc. All attendees must follow safety protocols and guidelines. 

  • MMEA’s policy will also be subject to any rules/regulations set forth by the venues.

  • MMEA asks for compliance with this policy for the safety and welfare of our attendees. Failure of any attendees to comply with this policy and all applicable safety protocols, may result in being denied entry to, or asked to leave the event.  

  • Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support of our efforts to create a safe experience for everyone.

 

Permission and Release to Use Likeness

  • Conference Attendees grant permission to MMEA and its agents to photograph, video, and/or record while participating in the conference

  • MMEA has permission to use, display, publish, reproduce, sell, edit, adapt, modify, perform, transmit, and otherwise use any such photographs, video, and/or recordings taken at the MMEA event  containing attendee’s likeness, including any derivative works created therefrom, for any purposes associated with MMEA in perpetuity without compensation. 

  • Attendee agrees that photographs, video, and/or recordings taken at the MMEA program will be the sole property of MMEA.
