Listening In

Listening in: Conversations about Music Education in Maryland

is an initiative of MMEA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion subcommittee.

The goal of this interview series is to provide an opportunity for listeners to learn about varied identities and experiences of music teachers in Maryland, with particular focus on highlighting underrepresented or overlooked perspectives.

We recently had the privilege of speaking with Jennifer Murray (PGCPS Orchestra Teacher), Amy Hairston (MCPS Choral/General Teacher), Terry Eberhardt (HCPSS Music Coordinator), and Josanne Francis (Steelpan Performer & Educator), all of whom shared their experiences and thought-provoking insights on music teaching and learning.
